The House of The Devil (2009) is one of my all-time favourite horror films. The autumn coziness, the dread — and that house! All to die for.

Starring Jocelin Donahue as the lead, Sam, the one and only Dee Wallace as the landlady and Tom Noonan as the total creep, Mr. Ulman.

Mr. Ulman opening the front door is one of my favourite scenes. He reminds me so much of a neighbour I once had. When I lived next to said unsettling man, I would sleep with a knife in my hand.

This flick is horror but there is so much suspense, a dance scene … and pizza! To me, this movie is scary perfection and a great reminder to trust your gut and listen to your BFF. Also, if the pizza tastes weird, do not eat it.

Five out of five stars! A must watch this spooky season, or any other time. Maybe even every day, forever.
