The Pool (2018)

From writer and director Ping Lumpraploeng, this is a fantastic creature feature / survival film. I promise how fake the crocodile looks, is part of its charm. This movie has both heart and horror. Four out of five stars because it is exactly the film I wanted it to be.

The Beach House (2019)

This Shudder Original is sure to get you into an unsettled summer mood. Otherworldly and deeply troubling. This film had me at the awkward social interactions and terrible edibles trip. I count this as a creature feature because … well, the dumplings of the sea. You’ll see what I mean. Three out of five stars.
