VIOLETTE TORRANCE

I know this is a Spielberg film and I know it is technically a thriller but personally I find Jaws terrifying. The mayor alone keeps me up at night, let alone the shark! In my mind, Jaws is a classic creature feature. Politicians are creatures, right?

There is this one scene where the shark-hunter, Quint (Robert Shaw), scratches a chalkboard in the big town meeting. On the board is a primitive drawing of a human-eating shark. This is by far one of my favourite scenes.

In honour of said scene’s greatness here is a little doodle I did based on Quint’s chalk drawing.

I highly recommend re-enjoying Jaws, a total sharp-toothed classic, to celebrate both summer and its 50th anniversary!
