Happy Friday the 13th! Have you watched the first film in the Friday the 13th franchise? Either way, viewing it is a great way to enjoy this special day.

Friday The 13th (1980), is in my opinion, the most hygge summer horror flick ever made. Summer love and rainy nights. Cozy sweaters and cabins, warm flannel, snuggly nightgowns, and baby Kevin Bacon. Also, having to go out into a storm in a raincoat when you hear “help me, help me”? So hygge.

Touch of fall colours on the lake at the end and that final cozy sweater! the comfort, the warmth! Was that cable knit? To die for!
Four out of five stars because it is oh so ’80s and hygge. Then one star subtracted for the very very white cast and the real and real upsetting snake killing. Frankly it is fucked up and all the effects should have been practical, not reptile murder. Snakes deserve kindness and respect!

Get it? Get it?
